Solar - the future?
Not in the UK it would seem. Recent directives would suggest that the government funding for solar panels is being withdrawn. I must add here that this is currently under consultation, but it is not looking good. A lot of people are fed up with this as they were hoping to get concessions for having them put on their private housing. What isn't widely known is how the effect will be felt in local government as well. Many LGs have been spending large amounts of time and people power to try and follow directives from the Government and European Government to look at cutting the UKs emissions. LGs are supposed to be leading by example to attract people to follow suit with private housing. Cuts in funding for a project like this are very backwards. In this country we are seeing a rise in energy costs as we have become more and more reliant on gas and oil from overseas. We don't even have any British owned energy companies anymore.
