Justice?

Last night Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito were aquitted of the murder of Meredith Kercher after serving four years in an Italian prison.  If they are truly innocent then a case of injustice has been ended and they are free to live their lives.

There is one question that seems to have been lost in all the media hype surrounding Knox in particular.  That is, if they didn't kill Meredith then who did?  The victim here should not be forgotten and the authorities now need to find out who really was responsible.  Rudy Guede is serving 16 years for the sexual abuse and murder of Meredith, but his sentence was cut as he testified against Knox and Sollecito.

A young woman lost her life and her family are left without closure of a successful conviction.  Who did kill her and will prosecutors follow up Knox and Sollecito as promised?  Right now though I am not thinking of the two released.  They will be able to get back some semblance of normality and if not guilty, have nothing to worry about.  If they are guilty long may it weigh on them.  No, I am thinking of the young woman who was so tragically taken from the world and her loving family left behind.
