My tribute to Christopher Hitchens
The great man who once called Mother Theresa an "Albanian Dwarf" after accusing her of using money raised to build convents in her name, has died from Pneumonia as a complication of his Oesophigal Cancer. Hitchens was never afraid to speak his mind on any topic including the war in Iraq (he was for it when many were coming out against it), George W Bush (called him unintelligent and proud of it) and even fell out with his own brother over different political stances (although they were later reconciled). One of his most famous events was taking on Tony Blair about the role of religion in politics. Needless to say, Hitchens came out the better of the two. He had a great many friends among the great thinkers of the day including Prof Richard Dawkins (fellow athiest) and writer Ian McEwan (who was there at his death).
