New Year Resolutions

Happy New Year Last week I wrote about how horrible the world was and what we can do, even in some small part, to make it a better place. This week I want to write about New Year Resolutions. I usually don't go in for that but I think that the right kind of resolution can do wonders. The right kind of resolution can make improvements in your health (mental and physical) and could make things better for others. You don't have to worry if you missed 1 January either, a resolution can be made at any time. My resolutions for 2018 I mentioned three on twitter but I guess I have a couple of others as well: Learn to cook something new every month Walk at least 5000 steps per day Write something in my journal every day Try to have a positive mental attitude Give something back through charity donations Learn to cook something new every month This one comes from the fact that I love to cook. The world is terrible

How to make the world a better place Right now the world seems terrible. There are so many bad things going on in the world that it is easy to lose track of the good in people. After all, you have the President of the United States who thinks that comparing the size of his button (nuclear) with the one belonging to the dictator of North Korea is a great idea. The POTUS believes he is the smartest human to ever human and that all the news outlets are just 'fake news' and out to get him. Then you have the UK PM who is totally ineffectual and is presiding over the car crash that is Brexit and the destruction of our greatest ever national accomplishment, the NHS. On top of that you have a YouTuber who thinks that going to a sacred forest ( Aokigahara - Japan), where people go to tragically end their lives, and dancing around like a tit when he finds a victim of suicide is a top idea for views.
